InMay2014,IsraelisoldiersintheoccupiedWestBank(Palestine)shotandkilledtwoteenagers,NadeemNawaraandMohamadAbuDaher.ThehumanrightsorganizationDefenceforChildrenInternationalcontactedForensicArchitecture,aGoldsmithsCollege-basedagencythatundertakesadvancedarchitecturalandmediaresearch.TheyworkedwithAbuHamdantoinvestigatetheincident.Thecasehingeduponanaudio-ballisticanalysisoftherecordedgunshotstodeterminewhetherthesoldiershadusedrubberbullets,astheyasserted,orbrokenthelawbyfiringliveammunitionatthetwounarmedteenagers.AlittleoverayearafterAbuHamdancompletedhisreport,hereturnstothecaseofAbuDaherandNawarainhisvideoRubberCoatedSteel.　　RubberCoatedSteelactsasatribunalfortheseserialkillingsounds.Itdoesnotpresideoverthevoicesofthevictimsbutratherseekstoamplifytheirsilence,fundamentallyquestioningthewaysinwhichrightsarebeingheardtoday.
