Oneofthebestfilmsfromtheentire'60s.Asmallmasterpiece,almostunknownbecauseitwasPetrlic'sfirstandonlyfilmheeverdidbeforehewentonteachingandwritingaboutCinemainZagrebasaprofessor.IwatchedthisfilmtheothernightatZagrebFilmFestivalforthefirsttimeinmylife,andwentcompletelycrazyaboutit.It'sChabrol,Godard,Bresson,Cassavetes,Lester,Pannebaker...inaquiet,subtle,almostchildishsituationsandresolutionswithinit,butyetit'sincrediblyclever,truetolife,warm.It's"off-beat"completely,whichisstrangeconsideringtheyearofthefilm(nooneinformerYugoslaviadidasimilarfilmtothisdate).It'slikeaJarmuschfilm,but15yearsbeforeStrangerThanParadise.<br/> TwofriendsarewanderinginZagreb,chasinggirls,gotoshows,attheriver,workingtogether,laughing,fighting.Nothinghappensreallystory-wised,buteverysecondsomethinghappensbetweenthepeopleinthescene,withjazz,orpiano,orcitytraffic,orcompletesilenceinthebackground.Somesortofinnermagicjustgoesfromonesceneintotheotherandtheendingishilariouslyunexpected,humanandinnocent.VerytouchingfilmaboutyoungurbanpeoplewithalovingdoseoftheoldZagreb'sspirit,backinthedaysthatseemsmuchsimpler,butitreallywascompletelythesameastodayorasanywhereelseforthatmatter,underconditionofagoodfeeling.
