
JamesBlunt:ReturntoKosovoisadocumentaryfilmrecordedinSeptember2006,whenBRITAward-winningmusicianandformerBritishArmyCaptainJamesBluntreturnedtotheUnitedNationsprotectorateofKosovotoperformaconcertforservingNATOtroops,andtovisitplacesandpeoplehehadencounteredwhilstservinginKosovoin1999.ThedocumentarywasdirectedbyStevenCantor,anAcademyAwardnominee.<br/> Thedocumentaryinterlacesthefootagefilmedin2006withpersonalvideostakenbyBluntin1999,aswellasnewsfootagefromtheKosovoconflict.BluntwasreunitedwiththethreeinterpreterswithwhomhehadworkedwhenhisunitwasthefirsttobesentintoKosovo.Together,theyhadintendedtoseekoutfamilieswithwhomBluntandhischargeshadinteracted;instead,theyfoundabandonedanddestroyedhomeswhereoncethesefamilieshadlived.TheyalsoreturnedtoamassgravethatBlunt'ssquadronhadbeeninstrumentalinidentifying;itwasnowatraditionalcemetery,wheremostofthedeadhadbeenidentifiedandgravestoneswiththeirlikenesseshadbeenerected.<br/> InterspersedwiththesesceneswereexcerptsfromtheconcertBluntperformedforNATOtroops,accompaniedbykeyboardistPaulBeard.TheconcertitselfwassponsoredbytheBritishForcesFoundation.BluntperformedsongsfromhisBacktoBedlamalbum,includingchart-topperYou'reBeautiful.AlsoincludedwashisperformanceofNoBravery,asongabouttheconflictthatBluntwroteduringhistourofdutyinKosovo.
