In 2007, a report denounced the Family Planning Clinic where, for two decades, clandestine abortions were performed in Campo Grande, in Mato Grosso do Sul. It was the beginning of an investigation that exposed the data of 10 thousand women and became the largest case abortion crime in Brazil. “Case of 10 Thousand” tells the story of the lives of these thousands of patients, how the silent agreement between a doctor and a city was broken, and how abortion became the center of a political dispute that continues to this day. In six episodes, Folha journalists Angela Boldrini and Carolina Moraes investigate the personal, political and social developments of what became known as the “10 Thousand Case”.
