Um Corpo que Dança - Ballet Gulbenkian 1965-2005

A proposal for the history of the body based on the journey of one of the greatest Portuguese dance companies of the 20th century. Marco Martins' documentary follows the development of dance in Portugal and the country's political, economic and sociocultural history. "A Body That Dances" is the story of the experience of a new body, in transformation, that frees itself from fascism, and of a changing society that opens up to the outside world. Using never-before-seen archive images and interviews with various creators and dancers, we follow in 2 episodes the journey of an extraordinary company, through the movements and words of its protagonists, from its genesis in the early 60s until its extinction in 2005.
