The circumstances of the killing of Father János Brenner, who died a martyr's death five years ago, are still shrouded in obscurity. The death of the 26-year-old chaplain was caused by thirty-two stab wounds on the night of December 14-15, 1957, when he was lured out of the Rábakethel parish under the pretext of urgent patient care. He was a martyr of the persecution of the church after the 1956 revolution, he became suspicious because the state power at the time frowned upon his dealings with young people.
