The Piano (2024)

The focus of "The Piano" is on undiscovered talents from all over Germany who have one thing in common: their very special story about the most popular instrument in Germany, the piano. In a total of six episodes, the pianists show off their skills in public spaces in four major German cities. The talents have no idea that two very special experts are watching and listening attentively to them in a hidden place: the German singer Mark Forster and the internationally renowned pianist Igor Levit. Behind the scenes, they comment on all of the pianists' performances. The range is wide: from classical to pop, from four-handed to vocal accompaniment. Mark Forster and Igor Levit are also organizing a big final concert, with a pianist from each city joining them on stage. The new primetime format is hosted by Annika Lau. (Text: GR)
