The Twenties - The Decade of Women

The three documentaries delve into a time full of extreme contrasts: hunger, misery and existential hardship for the masses alongside enormous wealth and decadent, extravagant luxury. Contemporary witnesses, who, in their old age, recount their memories of the 1920s and open their private photo albums, recall the period. And archives were searched to find new image documents of this period. This resulted in a three-part documentary series that does not primarily offer a political chronicle, but rather aims to convey a sense of this period and the most important trends, moods, events and developments experienced by the people during these exciting and agitated years.
