Saturnin

A Czech retro-comedy adapting Zdeněk Jirotka's beloved 1942 novel. In 1930s Prague, Jiří Oulický — a mild-mannered clerk whose idea of excitement is an evening game of billiards with his friend Doctor Vlach — hires a servant named Saturnin. But Saturnin is no ordinary manservant: he's an irrepressible, mischievous adventurer with a dry, devilish wit, and from the day he arrives, Oulický's tidy life dissolves into a cascade of absurd, charming escapades. Produced by Czech Television and released both as a feature film and this four-part series, it's often called the "Czech Jeeves," in the English dry-humour tradition of P. G. Wodehouse and Jerome K. Jerome.
