Marie meets Luis at a carnival party and ends up in bed with him. The aspiring teacher embarks on an affair with him, unaware of his sex addiction. A report of sexual assault causes Marie to begin doubting Luis. Because he wants to change, she gives in to his desires. According to the creators, the series "Naked" aims to show how sex addiction and mutual dependency profoundly affect the lives of those involved. After Luis narrowly escapes death due to her actions, Marie has an emotional breakdown. A stupid come-on from a man on the street is enough to trigger her attack on him and his car, punching and kicking him. After this outburst of violence, Marie's family, and especially David, are certain that intervention is necessary. David threatens to take away her custody of Santos and demands that she get her act together.
