Cowboys in Tall Grass

The romantic image of the old West and the cowboy was born right here in Oklahoma. The original home of the "Wild West Show", Oklahoma was the incubator of the American cowboy legend and very little of this story has been captured in one place...until now. Cox Communications has joined with veteran Oklahoma journalist and production executive Ken Greenwood to produce this unique six-part series. Episodes will feature Frank Phillips, the evolution of rodeos, cowboy film stars Tom Mix and Ben Johnson, the history of wild west shows and the birth and growth of some of the state's most famous ranches.
