Soejima, 40, lives alone in Tokyo, consumed by his passion for plants—and gifted with the uncanny ability to hear them. One day, while visiting a plant shop, he encounters a carnivorous plant called a sundew. The moment the sundew catches an insect, a conversation between Soejima and the plant begins. As he encounters a new and unusual plant in each episode, Soejima and another geek decide to start the Plant Maniacs Club.
