Tito - Between East and West

Tito - Between East and West is based on historical documents, TV and phonograph recordings, as well as testimonies of direct participants in the events. The central theme of the series is the way in which Josip Broz Tito, as the leader of the Partisan movement in World War II and later as the president of socialist Yugoslavia and representative of its foreign policy, skillfully balanced between two superpowers, that is, between the Eastern and Western blocs. It was this policy of "dancing on a thin wire" that gave Yugoslavia a unique place in world diplomacy, which was once described by The New York Times as "Tito's acrobatic balancing act".
