Game of Cars - Life for the car
“There’s hardly a day that goes by when I’m not tinkering with a car,” says amateur mechanic Steffen Gregorius. He has the chassis number of his first car tattooed on his arm. At Rüdeger Strauß’s RS Automobile tuning workshop, true rarities are restored, automotive icons like the Toyota Supra. Cars fascinate and inspire generations, and they are the lifeblood of entire regions. Works council member Oliver Simon has been fighting for jobs at the Bosch plant in Homburg for decades. Shortly before his retirement, the company announced plans to cut half of its workforce. Natascha Gasper is also experiencing the upheavals in the automotive industry. Years ago, she resigned from her job at Ford in Saarlouis because of a lack of career prospects. But even her current employer, the automotive supplier ZF, is facing massive job cuts. This documentary tells the stories of people who are passionate about cars. (Text: SWR)
