Pasha
Born and raised in Moscow, Pasha Belov studied at the prestigious Gnessin music school. He’s also half Uzbek and looks distinctly Central Asian—but having grown up in a Russian family, he knows virtually nothing about that side of his heritage. At 32, Pasha never became a musician. Instead, he tunes pianos for a living, still lives with his mother, borrows money from his older brother, and does whatever his grandmother tells him. None of this particularly bothers him; Pasha is perfectly content to drift through life. But when circumstances force him to move in with his friend Tolya, a broken tooth and mounting money troubles collide with an unexpected encounter with Zhenya, a struggling actress. Suddenly, Pasha begins to realize that tuning a piano may be a lot easier than getting his own life in tune.
