JK

The triumphant journey of Juscelino Kubitschek—a man of humble origins who, driven by fierce determination, capability, and charisma, rose to the presidency of the Republic. JK’s story is interwoven with the real and fictionalized tales of people who were part of his life and others whose lives he transformed. All this unfolds against the backdrop of nearly a century of Brazilian history: the Old Republic, the *Estado Novo*, World War II, and the peace of the "Golden Years"—the JK era—when the country experienced its most democratic, optimistic, and joyful period. Intense emotions and sweeping passions are set to the most romantic music Brazil has ever produced. Directed by Dennis Carvalho, this epic stands as a landmark in Brazilian television.
