Today's Close Up

Every day, we report on one theme and interview guests. The contents include hard and soft issues such as social issues, trends, and people. The progress composition is similar to "Nightline" (the time when Ted Koppel was in charge) of ABC News in the United States. The caster is Yuko Kunitani, a freelancer who has been working at NHK since the 1980s. On the first broadcast of the week (Monday), the caster name is displayed with a furigana (including the case of a substitute caster).
