History of Video Games

Video Game History aims to examine the past, present and future of video games and its players. From rudimentary Pong to elaborate virtual computer games, the people, ideas, and technology behind video games have evolved to transform what was once a mere distraction from the real world into a world apart. The visionary pioneers of the electronic realm have created a culture and infrastructure that is poised to become more and more an integral part of our daily life. From the beginning, video games have represented a form of entertainment and a corollary of our society that reflects the social values and cultural climate of the moment. Today, in the world of games, the only limits are the imagination of the player and the ingenuity of the programmer.
