Natural wonders of Seychelles
Due to the separation of the Seychelles Islands from all continents for millions of years, a unique fauna and flora has developed here. The 5-part documentation shows the different habitats on islands such as Mahé, Praslin, La Digue, Cousin and others. Often there is an abundance of different natural landscapes over a distance of just a few kilometers. Coastal strips with dream beaches are not only found on La Digue. Mudskippers and the rare Seychelles eel prefer to live in the mangroves. It is followed by swamps with several species of freshwater turtles. Coastal forests alternate with cloud forests and dry forests. The Vallee de Mai is home to perhaps the most famous plant in the Seychelles: the coco de mer. This extraordinary palm is only native to the islands of Praslin and Curieuse, but is also found sporadically on other islands.
