Africa Under The Pimple Hood

Almost every European country had acquired colonies over time. In the last third of the 19th century, the German Empire also began colonization. Africa researchers like Gustav Nachtigal or merchants like Adolf Lüderitz occupied certain areas, which were then placed under the protection of the German authorities and expanded. The four colonies or 'protected areas' as they were also called that ultimately resulted from this were Togo, Cameroon, German East Africa and German South West Africa. However, like almost every other colonial policy, it was not a lucky star and was shaped by exploitation and racism.
