In the evening after working hours, the Chairman of the National Trust Bank, Pochekaev, receives a call from an unknown person who tells that one of the bank branches is captured by armed robbers. Pochekaev suggests a joke. We see five men wearing colored masks break the bench and lay all the creatures there on the floor. The police and special forces arrive on the scene. The rescue operation's headquarters are in the cafe opposite the bank building. It soon becomes clear to the police and hostages that theft is unusual. The leader of the gang is much more interested in the contents of Pochekaev's safe than money. The police develop a hostage rescue plan together with the secret service. Robbers demand to be given the keys to lockers. Some hostages try to resist bandits or escape. Afraid Pochekaev is going to move his family abroad.
