The dramatic events of June 17, 1953, the construction of the Berlin Wall on August 13, 1961, the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the German Democratic Republic in October 1979, and finally the fall of the Wall on November 9, 1989, form the outer framework of everyday life. to tell the people in Liebesau: From farmer Schorsch Schönstein, who returned from the West in 1953 to his wife Gerlinde and chairman of the "LPG Einheit"; of the great, German-German love between Schönstein's son Karli and Greti; by her father, the "Großbauern" Fechner, by the second district secretary Hammer; of course also from Opa Schönstein and his passion for cigarettes over death, from Aunt Hulda and many other very ordinary "little people", who called this village their home. Forgivable love, contemptuous denunciations, diligence and ideals, sincere communists as well as the Spitzel of the Stasi - the four-part cycle shows, far from the great politics, the people as they had just set up or not.
