112 Emergency Call Germany

The documentary series from Spiegel TV illuminates what the emergency services experience, how they work and which scenarios they are confronted with. Emergency doctors, paramedics and fire fighters were followed with cameras for months while they healed patients and saved lives. The work in the accident hospital in Ludwigshafen is illuminated, for example. 40 doctors and 70 nurses make up the competence team. Whether traffic, work or leisure accidents - where other clinics reach their limits, the Emergency Room in Ludwigshafen is in top form. Two paramedics from Frankfurt am Main are also accompanied. Accidents, heart attacks, fights and, again and again, alcohol victims are part of Christoph Grüne and Fraz Ahmad's everyday working life. They have been driving the same ambulance in downtown Frankfurt for years. And at the fire brigade in Berlin-Neukölln, too, everything has to go very quickly if someone dials 112.
