A Jewel by Any Other Name

A docuseries focusing on jewellers, artists, artisans and designers whose creations contribute to the history of Portuguese jewellery. With elucidative and potentially didactic purposes, each episode portrays one or more relevant contemporary Portuguese jewellery artists. From ancient techniques to new technologies, from traditional materials to non-conventional materials, the series addresses topics such as fashion jewellery, the role of the galleries, teaching jewellery, the use of alternative materials and improbable techniques or the international dimension Portuguese jewellery has achieved. These themes form the background that justifies the production of pieces and shows the context of their creation. And after all, what is jewellery?
