Claude Lanzmann's epic documentary recounts the story of the Holocaust through interviews with witnesses, perpetrators and survivors of the extermination camps. He tracked down ex-Nazis and filmed them clandestinely, and he visited the villages around Chelmno, Ponary, Treblinka, Sobibor and Auschwitz to question witnesses there.
