Animals That Made History

Humans have always intervened in the animal world. But animals also wrote one of our stories: there is the sea otter, for example. Because of its coveted fur, Alaska was colonized by Russia and the animal was quickly hunted to extinction. Or the horse: conquer the Aztec empire with only 15 riding of Derer Hernán Cortés. And who knew that the whale guard not only serves as food, but also belongs to the coveted raw material for soap, creams and lipsticks. Even the whale barges find corset bars. Whether sea otters, horses or whales - animals have played a leading role in many cultural, historical and geopolitical upheavals. The art of world history is that, each in its own way, has shaped the course of world history.
