Defending America

It is too early - and the scope is too vast - to accurately analyze how the September 11 attacks changed America. But while reforms are still underway, there is no question that the U.S. Customs Service, The Coast Guard, and the National Guard - the organizations that bear the brunt of the work in protecting the homeland - will be remade in light of the new understanding of the threats facing the nation. DEFENDING AMERICA chronicles the history of these vital agencies, tracing their evolution and examining the changes they are undergoing today. Each, almost hour-long program includes interviews with top officials like Kevin McCabe, the Chief Inspector for the US Customs, and Admiral Thomas H. Collins, the Commander of the Coast Guard. With their expert insight and an extraordinary collection of images and film clips, this important set offers a comprehensive look at these key players in the war against terror.
