The power of the image

Three-part documentary series about how images played a crucial role in the development of the insignificant Austrian corporal Adolf Hitler into the undisputed German Führer who set the world on fire. The Nazis were the first to use film and photography emphatically to manipulate reality, to gain power and to maintain power. This docuseries shows how. But not only that: it also becomes clear how carefully Hitler was kept out of the picture during the Nazi years when it came to terror, concentration camps and mass extermination. So that he could never be associated with it.
