More than 27,000 men and women are in detention in the Netherlands. In addition, just under 1400 people are undergoing treatment in a TBS clinic. In the six-part documentary series 'Remainders' we follow men, women and children who are left alone when their loved one, father or mother gets stuck. For these stragglers, too, time sometimes seems to stand still. But they have to keep things running at home and stay strong for their loved ones under lock and key.
