In 1868, four years after her arrest, Catarina Palse makes a mysterious diary reach the hands of the newly appointed chief of police of Porto Alegre, Gervásio Campello. The promise is that the whole truth will be revealed about the crimes committed by her former partner, José Ramos. A Febre de Kuru is based on the true story of the Crimes on Rua do Arvoredo, which took place in Porto Alegre between 1863 and 1864, and which made the Brazilian José Ramos the first serial killer in history.
