The Second World War in colour

Sixty years have passed since the start of the most devastating war in human history. Fifty million lives were lost. It was fought on the ground, in the fields and in the air. It was fought in the forests, in the deserts and on the frozen steppes. It was fought on battlefields, in cities and in homes. Despite countless books, films and documentaries that offer remarkable insights into the war, there is still much that has never been told or seen. What is surprising is that the most incredible source of new material is in fascinating color. The compelling color material is highlighted by the testimonies of those who were there. Most of the narrative consists of personal contributions. Letters and diaries, read in the voice of the characters, expressing the fears, doubts, emotions and anguish of those who lived and died during the war, will allow us to relive the war experience.
