In November 2017, during the searches of the so-called Operation Tandem, a group of investigators opened the safe of the most famous Spanish police officer, José Manuel Villarejo. The obscure policeman linked to the state sewers kept 40-year-old recordings there with politicians, journalists, judges and businessmen.
