"TheRedMountain"isthetestimonyoftwojournalistsfromCali,Colombia,livinginNorwayasrefugees.Underlyingtheirownstory,wefindanevensadderstory:thatofthekidnappingsoccurredattheLaMariaCatholicChurchin1999.MembersoftheELNrebelgroupcommittedthiscrime.Thejournalistsinourstoryusedtobroadcast"VoicesofFreedom"(VocesdeLibertad);aradioshowthatsenthostagesfromtheELNheldintheColombianjunglemessagesfromtheirfriends,familyandlovedones.ThisgooddeedfromthejournalistsmadethematargettotheELN.BothjournalistsnowliveinalittletowninNorway,farfromthelifestyletheyusedtohaveinColombia.Amongthetown'sresidents,theymustcohabitatewithotherColombianrefugeesandtheirfamilies,formermembersofotherColombianrebelgroupsastheM-19andamemberofthegroupresponsiblefortheirexile,theELN.Becauseoftheirstatusaspoliticalrefugees,theycouldnotgobacktotheirhomesandfamilyforsevenyears,whichisthetimerequiredforthemtobecomeofficialNorwegiancitizensandgobacktotheirhomeastourists.Thosesevenyearshavefinallypassed,andourjournalistsarefinallyreadytogobacktotheirfamilies.
