'FindingFanon'isthefirstpartinaseriesofworksbyartistsLarryAchiampongandDavidBlandy;inspiredbythelostplaysofFrantzFanon,(1925-1961)apoliticallyradicalhumanistwhosepracticedealtwiththepsychopathologyofcolonisationandthesocialandculturalconsequencesofdecolonisation. Inthefilm,thetwoartistsnegotiateFanon’sideas,examiningthepoliticsofrace,racismandthepost-colonial,andhowthesesocietalissuesaffecttheirrelationship. Theirconflictisplayedoutthroughascriptthatmeldsfoundtextsandpersonaltestimony,transposingtheirdramatoajunkyardhouseboatatanunspecifiedtimeinthefuture.Navigatingthepast,presentandfuture,AchiampongandBlandyquestionthepromiseofglobalisation,recognisingitsimpactontheirownheritage.
