LewisJacobrendersthishistorywithawealthofarchivalfootageandmaterials,usingamixoffilmformatsandtechniques.VHSrecordingsofanti-deportationfilmsmadebyIdrish’stradeunionarepunctuatedwithplayfulanimationsandrapidmontagesofprintedephemera,asanarchiveofactivismisbroughttolife.Printmaterials,photographsandnewspaperclippingsareinterspersedwithanimalsdrawnfromIdrish’sfamilytapestry,andtherepeatedmotifofacampaignstickerdeclaring“MuhammadIdrishMustStay”marchesacrossthescreen.Thisinnovativereanimationofarchivematerialactstomobiliseitoncemore,whilstenmeshingIdrish’sidentityandheritagewithahistoryofprotest.
