Alighthousekeeperlivesonanisolatedislandtogetherwithhiswife,ailingfatherandretardedsister.Newsofaserialkillerstalkingtheisolatedlighthousesmakeshimleaveinordertohunthimdown.Inthemeantime,thewifemeetsamysteriousandseductivestranger.<br/>　　Onanisolatedislandthereisalighthouse.Besidesthelighthousekeeperthereishiswife,hisageingfatherandhissisterwhohaslearningdifficulties.Theyhearaboutakillerwhoistargetinglighthouses.Thelighthousekeeperdecidestogooffandlookforthekiller.Backatthelighthouseastrangerturnsup.<br/>　　LordanZafranovic(born11February1944inMaslinicaontheislandofSolta),isanacclaimedCroatianfilmdirector.<br/>　　AfterreceivingadegreeinliteratureandvisualartsattheUniversityofSplit,ZafranovicenrolledatthefamousFAMUinPraguewherehestudiedfilmdirectingandwhereheeventuallygraduatedin1981.Heisthereforeconsideredpartoftheso-calledPragueSchool,agroupofacclaimedYugoslavdirectorsofthe60'sand70'swhoallstudiedthere(theothersbeingGoranPaskaljevicandRajkoGrlic).Hisfirstfilmsmadeintheearly1960sweremostlyexperimentalshortswithgrotesqueandabsurdistinfluences.HisfirstnotableeffortsandfilmsthatmarkedthebeginningofhisregularfeaturefilmmakingwereChronicleofaCrime(1973)andPassionAccordingtoMatthew(1975),thelatterearninghimthecritics'awardatthePulaFilmFestival.<br/>　　Hismostimportantwork,thefirstpartofhisWWIItrilogy,Occupationin26Pictures(1978)followed.Thisdramafollowingastoryofthreeyoungmen'sfriendshipsetinWorldWarIIDubrovnikwentontowintheBigGoldenArenaforBestPictureatPulaFilmFestivalandwasahugeboxofficehitinYugoslavia.TheothertwopartsofhisWWIItrilogywereTheFallofItaly(1981)andEveningBells(1986).Inthemid1980'sheturnedtomoreintimatelovethemes,withfilmssuchasAnAngel'sBite(1984)andAloa:FestivityoftheWhores(1988).InthemeantimehealsodirectednumeroustvproductionsforRadioTelevisionBelgradeandRadioTelevisionZagreb.<br/>　　Duringthepoliticalturmoilintheearly1990shemovedtoPragueandslowlysinkedintoobscurity.InhislateryearsheproducedadocumentaryfeaturecalledTheDeclineoftheCentury:TestamentL.Z.(1994),andafilminCzechcalledRevenge(1995).
