Adaptationofcontroversialreal-lifestoryfromthe1950s.<br/>　　In1953,fiveyoungmencrossedtheborderfromCzechoslovakiatoEastGermany.TheywenttodeliverasecretmessagefromaCzechoslovakgeneraltotheUSauthorities,andtheyplannedtojointheUSArmySpecialForcesinordertoreturnandliberateCzechoslovakia.Thethree-dayoperationturnedinto“thelargestmanhuntoftheColdWar”asthousandsofEastGermanandSoviettroopspursuedthegroupfor31daysthroughthickandthin.MilanPaumer,JosefandCtiradMašíneventuallymadetheirwaytoWestBerlin.Andthere,theycreatedananti-communistresistancegroupinspiredbyaWorldWarIIresistanceleader,CzechgeneralJosefMašín,thebrothers’father.However,thesiblings’heroiclegacyhasbeentaintedbythegroup’skillingsofsixpeople.Czechpublicopinionisthereforedividedovertheirstatus,withsomeregardingthemasheroesandothersasvillains.<br/>　　导演是人物原型的远亲。
