Hourandahalfaftermidnight,onMay6th1991,thecommanderofthe4thCorpusofJNAgeneral-majorMilovanZorcreceivedthesecretdispatchfromthesupremecommandinBelgrade(Serbia),wherehewasorderedtomoveapartofthe10thArmouredmechanizedbrigadefromMostar(BosniaandHerzegowina)andjoinittotherestofthetankunitsinSinj(Croatia).Alongtankcolumn,equippedwithbattleshellsandthesoldiersdraftees,whogottheriflesandgunswithliveammunitionforthefirsttimewhilebeinginthemilitaryservice,setoffintheearlymorningonMay7th1991fromMostartowardsSinj.Atthe15thkilometresawayfromMostar,thetankcolumncameacrossthekilometreslongbarricadeformedoutofciviliansandheavytrucksandpassengercars.General-majorMilovanZorcinformedthecommandofJNAinBelgradethattheciviliansstoppedthecolumn.Whiletheverbalconflictswerelasting,passingoverinthecommandingchainofJNA,theinformationcametothefrightenedsoldiersinthetanks,composedoutofallofthenationsfromtheterritoryoftheformerYugoslavia,whodidn’tevenknowwhereandwhyaretheyactuallyheadingwiththeliveammunition,thattheywouldhavetousethefirearmsforthefirsttime.Onlysome30metresawayinfrontofthetankgunstherewastheunarmedpeople,determinedforthearmouredbrigadetoreturntothebarracksinMostar.Forthefirsttimehere,thegenerals,thecolonelsoftheformerJNAandthepoliticalofficialsoftheformerYugoslaviahavebroughtouttheirtestimoniesandfeelings.Citizens,theJNAsoldiers,theircommandingofficers,thepoliticalofficials,priests,policemen…hadalsotoldtheirstories.<br/> Thefilmshowsallthecomplexityofthesituation.Theentirescopeoftheproblemcanbeseenintheirstatements,theconflictswiththesuperiors,withtheprotesterswhowerereadytogivetheirlivesinfrontofthetank,undertheinfluenceofthatgreatadrenalin.Thefilmsenterstheinnermostfeelingsofthepeopleinthebureaucraticoffices,entersthesoulsofthecommanders,soldiers,civilians!Throughthefeaturefilmscenes,authentictakes,statements,radioandnewspaperreports,thefilm“3Days”showsthechaos,thesuspense,thefearsthatdominatedamongthepeoplefrombothsidesofthebarricadesontheeveofthebeginningofYugoslavia’sfallingapart.
