AcustodybattlegoesawryformotherLilewhenhersonissenttolivewithhermother-in-law,Nina.TimepassesandLileeventuallyhearsthatherson,Luka,hasbeenkilledintheGeorgian-Abkhazianconflict.It'snow1993andthewarisdrawingtoanend.LiletravelsbacktothevillagewhereLukawasraisedtocollecthisbodyforburial.Uponarrival,however,LileismetwithheavyresistancefromNinaandwhat'smore,Luka'sbodyhasnotyetarrived-ongoingfightinghavingpreventeditfromreachingthevillage.Anincreasedthreatfromthewarseesthevillagersfleefortheirsafety,leavingLileandNinathesoleoccupantsinthevillage.Theretheysit,awaitingthearrivaloftheirlovedone'scorpsewhilstlockedinabattleofescalatingenmity.
