David Harold McCormick (born August 17, 1965) is an American politician and businessman. McCormick served as the CEO of Bridgewater Associates, one of the world's largest hedge funds, from 2020 to 2022. A member of the Republican Party, he was formerly Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs during the George W. Bush administration. In January 2022, McCormick announced that he was running for the U.S. Senate seat held by retiring Senator Pat Toomey. He lost to Mehmet Oz in the Republican primary by fewer than 1,000 votes.
