After the war, the ruins of Osaka spread out. There was a man who was able to make both a pot pot and a tricycle out of the scrap metal he had collected. Taguchi Tozo (Shinichi Tsutsumi) has been honing his metalworking skills at an artillery factory. Two of his three sons never returned from the battlefield, and the youngest was lost in an air raid the day before the end of the war. As if to shake off the feeling of loss, Ruzo devotes himself to the task at hand with his wife Takawi (Yumi Aso). While large companies are still unable to resume operations due to post-war turmoil, Tozo and Takahi start ``Taguchi Iron Works'' from a shack. Meanwhile, his second son Masaaki (Kazuki Namioka), who miraculously returns to the military and takes over, makes the difficult decision to make weapons for his family to use in the Korean War. Then, in 1969, the Osaka Expo approaches. Michiko (Ao Ito), the strong and strong eldest daughter of Masaaki and his wife Sachi (Mizuki Tanimura), struggles with her university friends over the contradictions between war and peace. From the family history of three generations of parents and children, we trace 80 years of destruction and rebirth for certain Osaka people.
