Napoli d'altri tempi
A young man, a clerk in a hardware store in Naples in the early 1900s, passionate about music, composes lovely songs in his moments of freedom without finding anyone willing to help him break into the world of entertainment. An elderly lady is willing to do something for him: she introduces him to the family of a wealthy businessman, attracted by his compositions, who finances him, quickly ensuring him notoriety and wealth. The young man loves, and is loved in return, the daughter of his benefactors but, for reasons of social difference, cannot marry her; especially since he is a foundling. In the crisis that follows his disappointment, the old lady confesses to him that she is his mother's sister and helps to calm his soul with words of resignation. The young man will marry Ninetta, a good girl from the people, who has always loved him in silence.
