Das chinesische Wunder

Disgusted by the greed and desire for recognition of his colleagues, the young surgeon Kristian Keller wants to start a new life in Hong Kong with Detta, his boss's wife. On the flight, Keller meets the mysterious old Russian Poliakoff, who helps him with an emergency operation by anesthetizing the patient with acupuncture needles. Meanwhile, Detta has a car accident and cannot follow Keller because of constant migraines. In Hong Kong, Keller meets Poliakoff again, who introduces him to the secrets of acupuncture. When the old Russian dies in an attack, his box of needles becomes Keller's property. After a long time, Keller returns to Germany, successfully practices acupuncture, heals Detta and wins the recognition of his colleagues.
