Thomas, a sixty-year-old watchmaker from the last century – a Raskolnikov type – tries to forget a crime of the past. He lives and works in Athens. Sonya, a young Russian woman sufficiently cultured and sensitive – she reads Dostoyevsky – comes to Greece to work "temporarily" in a brothel. Their brief meeting will lead to a strong love that will be hindered by a promoter, Max. But an old prostitute, Soso, will kill him for her own reasons and her act will free Sonia. Thomas will then bequeath his fortune to her and his assistant Bomba and leave for Marseilles forever.
