Hope I'm in the Frame
Michal Bat-Adam is the first and only female film director in Israel who has consistently made films from the 1970s until today. This is an emotional and associative portrait of a filmmaker who was ahead of her time, a beautiful and successful actress who claimed her right to move to the other side of the camera and received cruel criticism for it. The film accompanies Bat-Adam during filming for her new low-budget film and even intimately documents her daily life alongside her lover of 40 years, director Moshe Mizrahi. Both struggle to continue making films despite their advanced age and the establishment's turning their backs. "I hope I'm in the frame" raises questions about creation and aging, love, relationship and compassion, cinema as memory and the blurred border between life and movies.
