Asteroids are celestial bodies in space that have been floating around our sun since the formation of our solar system. About every 100 years the Earth is hit by a piece of rock. With relatively small asteroids, the effects are localized, but larger ones can fundamentally change life on Earth and have catastrophic effects. A groundbreaking development aims to save our planet from danger from space.
