The Sagouine (2006)

La Sagouine is not just an imaginary figure; she's a flesh-and-blood creature, a poor woman who was born near the sea, who can't read or write, who spends her days scrubbing floors. This Acadian woman, with her rich vocabulary and ready tongue, observes human behavior. She is the voice of her people, expressing its wisdom, its soul.
