The development of German rail traffic at the beginning of the 19th century and the invention of the steam locomotive became known. The transport system, which was revolutionary at the time, changed life - for the first time long journeys and the transport of goods over long distances were possible quickly, reliably and cheaply. Soon, however, the railroad was also being used for warfare and thus got into a crisis. The railway still shapes life in Germany to this day.
