The Sea of Faith

In this rich and strange series of programmes philosopher Don Cupitt discursively explores how Christian thought nurtured, and responded to, an increasingly materialist/realist/rationalist modern world-view . Rev. Prof. Cupitt consideredly meanders through the works and lives of a miscellany of thoughtful coves including Galileo Galilei, Blaise Pascal, René Descartes, Kierkegaard, Jung, Freud, David Friedrich Strauss, Charles Darwin, Schopenhaurer, Annie Besant, Vivekananda, Albert Schweitzer, Nietzsche, Wittgenstein and others.
