Judging Pétain

During the first week of the trial, the prosecution parades political figures of the 1930s such as Edouard Daladier, Albert Lebrun and Léon Blum. Their testimonies focus on the circumstances of the defeat of 1940 and the vote of the full powers that the parliamentarians granted in the wake of the Marshal. But thus initiated, does the Pétain trial not threaten to evade the burning question of collaboration with the Nazi occupiers? A revolutionary process made it possible to add sound to the silent images of the time.
